hey my band the $5 bills were inspired and wanna rock but we cant find a drummer sooooo were really lost if you have any advice it would be very welcome thanks
Yup - apart from playing with your best friends REGARDLESS of their skill level - a situation not everyone's lucky enough to be in - the best way to find a good bandmate is to hit up the local shows in your town. Not only does that show support for other musicians in the scene, it's also a great way to make friends. And chances are the type of drummer you meet at a show feat bands you like will be into the same genre and sounds you're into.
Plus, watching small rock shows are great for inspiring ideas - nothing plants a seed for a riff or melodic vocal thing better than seeing something you like played live and loud 5 feet in front of you :)
If you're already writing, you should probably also consider recording some rough demos with programmed drums... so when the time comes to show your new drummer the songs you'll already have something they can study before hitting practice.
Just my 2 cents!
you guys are incredibly generous with your free mp3s. do you think it helps your fan base and sales? i sure hope it does. and little steven should play some of your new songs. we should all tell him so.The Dollyrots responded on 04/17/2014 Next question
Any plans to journey to the East coast states for some song and dance? Rochester (New York) is a very music savvy city, with numerous unique clubs and venues. Look us up.The Dollyrots responded on 04/17/2014
